You will be evaluated by a licensed therapist to establish problem areas and to collaborate with you to set functional goals and to establish a plan of care. If your insurance is an HMO/managed care plan and you are required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician, the referral must be obtained before you can be seen for an office visit. Please coordinate this with your primary care physician in advance. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.
You will need a referral from your physician or medical provider (primary care doctor, nurse practitioner, orthopaedic surgeon, podiatrist, etc.) for insurance to pay for your physical therapy treatment.
Tucson Orthopaedic Institute therapy services will accept an initial referral from your provider by fax, mail, or in person. What a breath of fresh air in our world today. I have seldom, or ever had a more pleasant experience at a doctor’s office than I had today. From the time I walked up to the reception counter to the time I left, I felt as though the entire staff there were concerned about the pain I was feeling. I was a walk-in patient without an appointment , yet the young lady at the reception counter made a special effort to ask a doctor to see me. Dr Rozell graciously agreed to see me, and after a quick X-ray, he clearly and concisely explained the cause of my misery. Of course he then laid out an equally clear and concise plan of action to address the cause of pain as well as providing some immediate relief. Thank you Dr Rozell and your staff there at Tucson Orthopedic Institute for the mercy and compassion you demonstrated to a suffering fellow Tucsonian.
After dealing with shoulder pain for 5 months I finally decided to call and make an appointment. I was shocked to be seen within a few days of calling. Everyone at the practice was friendly, efficient and helpful. Dr. Prickett was personable and down to earth. And, my shoulder finally feels better. Highly recommend.
A million thanks to Dr. Stevens Zeiller. I was told by several people that Dr. Zeiller was the best surgeon, he lived up to his reputation. Natalie was great and answered all my questions. I also want to thank Gina, surgery co-ordinator, front desk people who were SO helpful and the unknown appointment scheduler that got me to Dr. Zeiller in the first place. a 5 Stars to all of you.
From my first intake appointment to the day I checked out after having lower back surgery, the services provided by every staff member of TMC was amazing. Dr Jeong and PA Richard Street provided outstanding professional services and ensured I understood anything and everything related to my procedure. Cannot express enough gratitude for the level of care I also received from all nursing staff that provided me with comfort throughout my stay. I am very grateful that for the first time in eight months I have no more numbness and lower back pain.
I would like to commend Tucson Orthopaedic Institute for great service. I have used them several times; first was with Dr. Tucker suffering shoulder pain and recently Brent Walker suffering lower back pain. The shoulder was resolved after a few months of physical therapy at the Rincon clinic. The lower back problem is ongoing but the physical therapy at the Wyatt clinic was great. In particular I would like to mention Diane Connel who was very supportive and made every effort to customize the treatment to me. The condition has gone from a state partially debilitated with constant pain to almost totally vanished. This is way beyond expectations and I can hardly express how delighted I am. I would recommend the institute to anyone.
I recently passed the one year anniversary of my total ankle replacement surgery performed by Dr. Landis, and I am so thankful to finally be pain free. I shattered my ankle in 2006 and subsequently had two surgeries. After 17+ years of constant pain, canes, and cortisone shots, I finally listened to Dr. Landis and had my ankle replaced using the latest technology and 3-D printing. My surgical pain was minimal, and my recovery went exactly as he described. I moved from a splint put on after surgery, to a cast, to a walking boot and PT, to normal activity in the span of 12 weeks. My quality of life has improved so much since this surgery, and for that I thank Dr. Landis. My only regret is not doing this surgery sooner!
I want to pass my huge thank you and compliments on to two outstanding TOI employees, Diana Serafin, Patient Services Manager, and BreAnna Martin, Patient Services Representative. Both women have been extremely courteous, friendly, and professional, helping me navigate the TOI system of appointments, communications, and updating insurance records. Both women are the HOSPITALity in HOSPITAL and SERVICE in Patient Services.
Eric Anctil and Briana Childers are a fantastic team! They are friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions I had about my care. Their support team were also very helpful. My experience with Tucson Orthopedic Institute was a very well organized group. I would recommend them and would go there again.
Surgery is never a pleasant , but it helps when the Doctor and staff are kind and considerate, on Feb 12th, Doctor Goode and his staff did a wonderful job from start To finish on my arm surgery. Wow that’s not too long for that wall is it?

My first visit with Dr. Maltry was today, he was incredibly kind and caring. He formulated a plan to soothe my ailing knees and gave me the next step if I did not find relief. We need more physicians like Dr. Maltry!!
I just had a shoulder replacement done by Dr. Goode and his staff. Dr. Goode, Samantha and Liz were the finest medical professionals I have encountered. They are kind and explain every step of the process, in addition they return calls which is a major plus for me. They have changed the quality of my life, I can golf, do the gym and perform basic tasks with no pain...WOW!! It probably sounds strange but I will miss seeing Dr Goode and his staff, especially Samantha (a true professional) I would highly recommend Dr Goode and his staff and shout out a sincere thanks for their excellent service!!
I had an incredible experience with the nursing staff at Tucson Orthopedic Institute during my recent surgery. Sam, Kimberhay, and Amanda went above and beyond in every way. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel completely at ease and genuinely cared for. They brought warmth, humor, and professionalism to every interaction. I never once felt like “just another patient.” They anticipated my needs, answered every question with patience, and created an environment that felt safe, calm, and even a little like home. Dr John Wild has done both my knees. From my first office visit to hospital discharge I received friendly, professional care. It seems that everyone I run into in the neighborhood has also used Dr John Wild with equal satisfaction. Dr. Landis repaired my torn peroneal tendon from an old injury. He did such a good job that I never even had any surgical pain. He prepared me for a long recovery, but I was walking unaided in three months with lots of Physical therapy. He and Amy have been so wonderful to me . Thank you!

Dr. Domingo Cheleuitte saved the quality of my life. When other doctors would only treat me with cortisone shots in my foot, and refused to operate on me, he operated on my foot. I am pain free for the first time in 2 years. He is by far the best foot surgeon that Tucson Orthopedic Institute has. He is caring and has a wonderful personality.
I could not be happier with the outcome of the Microdysectomy that Dr. Zeiller performed on May 6th. He is a very compassionate doctor and cares about his patients. I am very grateful that I am pain free again. Thank you Dr. Zeiller!
Dr. John Wild performed surgery on my knee and to my surprise, I didn't need crutches or a walker after surgery. That's when you know you have a great surgeon! He doesn't rush during an appointment and makes you feel like you're his only patient. There's a culture at Tucson Orthopaedic where everyone is friendly & makes you feel special. From check-in to leaving the hospital. Dr. John Wild has been doing surgery for over 40 years and still has a positive attitude. I really loved my experience!
My first encounter with Tucson Orthopaedic at the Oro Valley location last week is worth leaving a comment. I came in person at 4:30 to schedule an appointment, requesting one ASAP, before a trip. Jennifer checked dates and locations, working with me while scheduling other patients. She was “earnest” in finding a slot. Jennifer consulted with Med Assistant Kim, who could not have been more helpful in arranging everything I will need for my upcoming appointment . Kindness is the ‘buzz’ word now…..these two employees didn’t shrug me off; they took time to accommodate a customer. Thank you.
